Scrum Essentials
Drive adaptability, gain a competitive edge with scrum in any industry, and stand out with a professional micro credential from Scrum Alliance.
Scrum Essentials
Everyone can recite the roles and the ceremonies. Far fewer can tell you why each one exists, or what actually breaks when a team skips one. This course builds a real working knowledge of the Scrum framework — the roles, events, and artifacts — so you can use it with confidence in any role, on any team, in any industry.

The credential
Scrum Essentials is an official Scrum Alliance microcredential. Attend the live session, participate, and it's yours — no exam, no follow-up assignment.

Scrum Alliance
A digital badge you can add to LinkedIn the day you finish, backed by a globally recognized credentialing body. Microcredentials are stackable — a foundation you can build on with any of our other Scrum Alliance courses.
What you'll learn
Six modules covering the roles, events, and artifacts that make up Scrum — closing with a live scenario simulation so it isn't just theory.
Module 01
Why the Agile Manifesto exists, the five Scrum values underneath the framework, and what actually changes when a team commits to using it.
Module 02
The three artifacts and three commitments that hold Scrum together, and the events that turn it from a list of terms into a working system.
Module 03
How a high-performing Scrum team is actually built: the three accountabilities and the skills each one depends on to work.
Module 04
Sprint planning, the Daily Scrum, sprint review, and retrospective — what each one is for, and how they work together across a sprint.
Module 05
Techniques for sizing and managing the product and sprint backlogs, and why the estimation process matters more than the number it produces.
Module 06
Where Scrum holds up against traditional project management, and what changes when only part of the organization is on board.
Scenario simulation
The session closes with a live simulation: you'll navigate a full set of Scrum events as if you were the Scrum Master, applying everything from the first six modules in real time.
Who it's for
A genuine beginner course that's also a fast, practical refresher for people who've been working around Scrum for years.
New to the framework and looking for a clear, practical starting point — no jargon assumed.
Managing complex work and looking for a framework built to handle it — and a way to speak the same language as the team.
IT professionals, software engineers, and technical staff working inside or alongside a Scrum team.
Already on a Scrum team and ready to sharpen what's usually assumed rather than actually taught.
HR, manufacturing, government, healthcare, education — Scrum isn't limited to software teams anymore.
Already hold a CSM, CSPO, or CSD and want a fast, structured refresher on the fundamentals.
Straight answer on prerequisites: there are none. This course is designed for complete beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Basic familiarity with Scrum can help you place a few examples, but it isn't required to get real value out of the session.

Founder, Rocket Nine Solutions · Certified Scrum Trainer
Scott has spent two decades inside Scrum teams — as a developer, a Scrum Master, a coach, and eventually a trainer to thousands of people at Fortune 500 and Inc 500 companies alike. Scrum Essentials is the course he built for exactly the questions that trip people up in practice: why the roles are split the way they are, what each event is actually protecting, and where teams quietly drift from the framework without realizing it. Come with zero background or years of it — either way, he'll meet you where you are.
Questions
Scrum Essentials is an overview — you'll understand Scrum's roles, events, and artifacts, and the benefits of agile ways of working, well enough to get started in any role. Certified ScrumMaster goes deeper into how the Scrum Master specifically serves the team, product owner, and organization. Neither is a prerequisite for the other, and if you've already taken a CSM, CSPO, or CSD course, this covers the same fundamentals rather than new material.
No. There are no prerequisites. The course is built for complete beginners and works just as well as a refresher for people who've been working with Scrum for years.
No exam. Attend the full live session and participate, and we register you for the Scrum Alliance Scrum Essentials microcredential. Your digital badge follows shortly after.
