The credential
Coaching for Change is an official Scrum Alliance microcredential in the Leadership and Coaching track. Attend the live session, participate, and it's yours — no exam, no follow-up assignment.

Scrum Alliance
A digital badge you can add to LinkedIn the day you finish, backed by a globally recognized credentialing body. Microcredentials are stackable — combine this one with other Scrum Alliance coaching credentials to build a full coaching pathway at your own pace.
What you'll learn
The course runs through six modules, each one a skill you can use the next time you walk into a room where something is quietly not working.
Module 01
Work out who and what is actually in play — where the boundaries of your client sit, and why the org chart is rarely the answer.
Module 02
Earn the right to coach. How to arrive, build trust fast, and establish the agreements that make honest work possible.
Module 03
The core skill: helping a group see its own patterns clearly enough that it wants to change them, without you being the one to say it.
Module 04
Read the roles people occupy — formal and unspoken — and the power dynamics that come with them. Then work with both.
Module 05
Treat friction as information. Facilitate the hard conversation instead of smoothing it over, and turn it into forward motion.
Module 06
Stay useful over time — holding neutrality, knowing when to step back, and leaving the system stronger than you found it.
Who it's for
This is for anyone whose job involves getting groups of people to move in the same direction — whatever your title says.
Supporting more than one team, and running into problems that live between teams rather than inside them.
Building high-performing, genuinely collaborative teams — and tired of the same dynamics resurfacing every quarter.
Ready to go deeper on systems thinking and group dynamics, and to coach at organizational scale rather than one person at a time.
Improving cross-team collaboration and stakeholder engagement, where influence matters more than authority.
Supporting agile transformations and culture change, with a practical model for how groups actually shift.
Sponsoring agile initiatives and looking for systemic impact instead of another round of team-level training.
Straight answer on prerequisites: there are none, and you don't need to be an agile coach. Some basic familiarity with scrum will help you place the examples, but the skills here apply in any role where you need a group of people to change together.

Founder, Rocket Nine Solutions · Certified Scrum Trainer
Scott has spent two decades coaching teams and leaders through agile transformations, and most of that work has been systems work whether or not anyone called it that — the stuck handoff between two departments, the executive sponsor who says yes in the room and no in the budget, the team that can't name what's wrong. He teaches this course with real situations, including the ones you bring, and he'll tell you plainly when the answer is a conversation rather than a framework.
Questions
It's coaching a team or organization as a single entity rather than as a collection of individuals. Instead of working person by person, you work with the patterns, relationships, roles, and communication that run between them — which is where most persistent problems actually live.
This course is about the skills to coach a system — entering it, revealing it to itself, working with roles and conflict. Coaching for Transformation is about what happens after: the structures, leadership behaviors, and cultural signals that determine whether the change you helped create survives. They're separate credentials and either can come first, but together they cover both halves of the work. See Coaching for Transformation →
No. There are no prerequisites, and this course is designed for people from any role or background who want the skills to coach teams and organizations toward greater agility. Some basic familiarity with scrum is helpful for context, but it isn't required.
No exam. Attend the full live session and participate, and we register you for the Scrum Alliance Coaching for Change microcredential. Your digital badge follows shortly after.
One 4-hour live virtual session covering all six modules, mixing short teaching segments with discussion, scenarios, and practice. It's interactive by design, so plan on cameras on and bringing a real situation from your own organization to work with.
Yes — Scrum Alliance members earn 4 SEUs for this course, which you can apply toward renewing your certifications. Your seat also includes a two-year Scrum Alliance membership.
Yes, and for this course it's often the stronger choice — a private session lets the group work on its own system, together, in real time. Email hello@rocketninesolutions.com and we'll put together a plan.
The coaching pathway
These five Scrum Alliance microcredentials aren't prerequisites for each other, but they're designed to build in this order.
The foundations — what agile coaching is, and the presence it takes to hold space for a team.
Learn the six stances of a coach — facilitating, teaching, mentoring, advising, leading, coaching — and when to use each one.
Take those same six stances from concept to practice with a scenario-based, hands-on session.
The skills to coach a whole organization as a single client.
Making sure the change you helped create actually survives.

Run the session with your own leaders, coaches, and team leads in the room. Everyone earns the same credential — and everyone leaves with a shared language for the dynamics you're all working inside.
