The credential
CSPO is the first step in the Scrum Alliance Product Owner track. There's no exam. Attend both days and take part, and the credential is issued to your Scrum Alliance account after class.
What you'll learn
The course is built on Scrum Alliance's CSPO learning objectives, plus the Scrum foundations every Product Owner needs. You'll practice juggling stakeholder needs, shaping a product vision, and choosing the right next increment of value.
Module 01
The framework, values, and principles that make Scrum work, and where the Product Owner fits alongside the Scrum Master and developers.
Module 02
What the role really owns: decisions about order, scope, and trade-offs, and how to work with stakeholders without becoming a bottleneck.
Module 03
Craft a product vision and product goal the team can rally behind, then turn them into a roadmap and release plan that can change as you learn.
Module 04
Segment customers, describe their needs and pains, and connect the team directly to the people they're building for.
Module 05
Spot the riskiest assumptions in your plan and test them cheaply before the team invests sprints of work in them.
Module 06
Create, refine, and order a backlog so the team consistently delivers the most valuable work first.
Hands-on throughout
Every module is practiced, not just presented. You'll work through exercises and realistic scenarios using the tools Product Owners rely on, with Agile values and principles kept at the center.

Your session
Two days of hands-on practice, a Scrum Alliance credential, and the first step on the Product Owner track.
The official Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Product Owner credential, issued after you complete the course.
Two years of membership come with the certification, including access to Scrum Alliance's member resources and community.
Count them toward your Scrum Alliance and PMI certification renewals. You earn one of each per hour of live training.
Practical techniques for vision, stakeholders, and backlog ordering that you practice in class and take straight back to your team.

Questions
No. CSPO is the first step on the Scrum Alliance Product Owner track, and no prior certification or Scrum experience is required.
No exam. Attend and take part in both days, and your CSPO is issued to your Scrum Alliance account after class.
It depends on the role you want. Certified ScrumMaster focuses on coaching a team to use Scrum and keep improving. CSPO focuses on the product: setting the vision, managing the backlog, and deciding what the team builds next. Both are valuable, and many people eventually take both.
Every two years, with a renewal fee and the required Scrum Education Units. If you go on to earn the Advanced CSPO or CSP-Product Owner, your CSPO renews automatically when you renew the higher-level certification.
Once you have 12 months of Product Owner experience within the last five years, you can earn the Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner. After that, with 24 months of experience, comes Certified Scrum Professional - Product Owner, the top of the track.
We aren't running public CSPO sessions right now. Every session is delivered privately for one organization at a time. That means the exercises can be shaped around your actual products, customers, and backlog.

Requires a CSPO (active or expired) plus at least 12 months of experience as a Product Owner within the last five years, and completing an approved A-CSPO course.
