Certified Agile Facilitator (CAF)
Most people run meetings. Few actually facilitate them — reading the room, drawing out the quiet voice, keeping conflict productive instead of buried. Certified Agile Facilitator builds that skill deliberately: the mindset, the techniques, and live practice on real facilitation plans, not just theory about them.

Private training
We deliver Certified Agile Facilitator exclusively as private training. The 16 hours can run as two intensive days, or split into shorter blocks over a few weeks — whatever fits around your team's calendar.
Either way works. Email a bit of context — team size, roles, and how you'd like the 16 hours scheduled — and we'll follow up with a plan, or skip straight to 30 minutes with Scott to talk it through.
The credential
Certified Agile Facilitator is an official Scrum Alliance certification. It's built for practice, not just theory — you facilitate live in class, then work through how to improve a real facilitation plan based on that experience.

Scrum Alliance
A globally recognized digital badge you can add to LinkedIn the day you finish, backed by a Scrum Alliance–approved trainer. It applies to any group you're asked to guide — not just Scrum teams — and counts toward renewing your existing Scrum Alliance certifications.
What you'll learn
Six areas that take you from "ran the meeting" to "facilitated it" — closing with live practice on a facilitation plan pulled from your own real-world situation.
Module 01
What a facilitator actually is and does, the neutral facilitator mindset, and the From the Front, From the Back, and From the Inside stances — and when each one fits.
Module 02
Assess a group's real purpose, desired outcomes, and dynamics before a session — including the needs nobody's said out loud yet.
Module 03
Build plans tailored to the situation in front of you — team forming, conflict resolution, agreement design — instead of running the same agenda every time.
Module 04
Listening techniques that surface what a group actually means, and how to deliver feedback that lands without derailing the room.
Module 05
Treat conflict as a normal, valuable part of the process — manage it constructively, keep the group positive, and stay on the agenda without shutting people down.
Module 06
Create a genuinely collaborative space and use methods that amplify the group's collective wisdom instead of the loudest voice in the room.
Live practice
You'll facilitate live during the session, then work through how to strengthen a real-world facilitation plan based on that experience — not a hypothetical one.
Who it's for
If part of your job is getting a room — virtual or otherwise — to actually decide something together, this is for you.
Running ceremonies every sprint and wanting them to actually produce decisions, not just updates.
Bringing competing stakeholders into the same room and needing every voice heard before a call gets made.
Any manager or lead whose real job is getting a group to align, not just deliver a status update.
Working across teams and organizations, where facilitation is the tool you reach for daily whether or not it's your title.
Building facilitation as a real skill set, with a recognized certification to show for it.
Certified Scrum Professionals (CSP-SM, CSP-PO, CSP-D) validating an important skill on the path to agile coaching.
On prerequisites: there are none. This course is built for anyone involved in group collaboration, technical or not — the facilitation mindset applies whether the room is a sprint retro or a cross-functional steering committee.
Your session
16 hours, however you want them scheduled, and a real certification everyone in the room walks out with.
A real Scrum Alliance certification, awarded for full attendance and participation — no separate exam.
Counted toward renewing your existing Scrum Alliance and PMI certifications.
You facilitate for real during the session, then work through improving an actual facilitation plan — not a hypothetical exercise.
Bring the meeting or conflict you're actually stuck facilitating to our alumni sessions with Scott and other practitioners.
16 hours total, scheduled flexibly · Taught by Scott Dunn, CST/CEC · No exam · Delivered exclusively as private training for your team.

Founder, Rocket Nine Solutions · Certified Scrum Trainer & Certified Enterprise Coach
Scott has spent two decades in rooms where the agenda and the actual conversation were two different things — and where the gap between them decided whether anything got resolved. He teaches facilitation as a distinct, practicable skill: reading a group, drawing out what people aren't saying, and keeping conflict productive instead of avoided or exploded. Every session includes live practice, because facilitation is a skill you build by doing it in front of people, not by reading about it.
Questions
Yes. Certified Agile Facilitator is an official Scrum Alliance certification, not a microcredential or a third-party badge. It comes with a digital badge and counts toward SEUs and PDUs for your existing certification renewals.
No. There are no prerequisites. The facilitation mindset and techniques apply to any group you're asked to guide — Scrum experience isn't required, though many attendees are Scrum Masters, Product Owners, or coaches.
No exam. Attend the full 16 hours and participate — including the live facilitation practice — and you'll receive your Certified Agile Facilitator badge afterward.
However works best for your team. Most organizations run it as two full days back to back, but we've also split it into shorter blocks spread across a few weeks so people can keep up with regular work. Tell us your constraints and we'll build the schedule around them.
We aren't running public CAF sessions right now. Delivering it privately means the live facilitation practice can use real situations from your own team and meetings, instead of generic scenarios that don't transfer back to your desk.
